MABEL
Welcome to Mabel Fraser, where the passion for photography comes to life. I'm David Campbell, and my photography story began in the scenic landscapes of Nova Scotia. From a young age, at just 13, I knew that photography was going to be my life-long endeavour.
A bit more about me
After completing high school, I pursued my dream by studying at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario, for three years. Armed with knowledge and determination, I returned to Nova Scotia to kickstart my career as a commercial and advertising photographer. I set up my studio in Halifax, collaborating with numerous advertising agencies and graphic design firms in the region.
My career took a significant leap when I teamed up with Don Robinson to establish Robinson/Campbell and Associates, which soon became the largest commercial photography studio in Eastern Canada. Our clientele included notable names such as Bell Canada, National Sea Products, Nova Scotia Power, Bolands IGA, Empire Group, Canada Post, Report on Business Magazine, Canadian Living Magazine, Time Magazine, and many other esteemed national and regional brands. Our projects ranged from food photography to portraits and automotive shoots, both on location and in the studio.
In 1990, our studio embraced digital capture technology, pioneering its integration into our work. This innovation led me to design and teach the digital imaging program at the Nova Scotia Community College in 1994, where I dedicated the next 23 years to educating the next generation of photographers.
Thank you for visiting Mabel Fraser. Here, creativity and expertise come together to tell compelling visual stories.
